Great Books. Big Heads.
The funniest Christmas movie ever?
Do I use this device in place of ‘real’ books?!
Harry Potter in real life!
Something I Read
THE WHO WAS…? BOOKS
I don’t know how I haven’t talked about this book series yet, but here we are! The Who Was...? series has hundreds of books that talk about famous people. They are fascinating, informative, and easy to read! Also, the cover of each book has a caricature of the person, which makes his/her head huge!
First, these books are fascinating! It is so cool to learn about all of these remarkable people and what they did for (or against) society! They are illustrated with pictures and contain fun facts! I love reading or skimming through these books! Second, these books are informative! They are packed with facts about the person’s life! They contain info about their family, career, personal life, and other interesting facts about them! Not only are these books educational, but they are easy to read! I started reading these books at a very young age (around 7) and I still read them to complete High School research projects! They are simple and provide you the information you need!
I really enjoy reading these books, and I have so many of them! There are still some I need to read! I have a History project coming up and of course I’m using one of these books to complete it! These are honestly excellent books, and I would recommend them to anyone who must complete a project for school or just wants to learn about someone! You can buy them on Amazon, borrow from your local library, or go to their website here. They also have books about events that happened or places that exist!
Something I Watched
ELF
Since Thanksgiving has been completed, we can now talk about Christmas! When we are talking about Christmas, we have to discuss the best Christmas movies of all time! No doubt, the movie ‘Elf’ is one of these! If you disagree, then “you sit on a throne of lies!”
Obviously, the best part of Elf is the comedy! There is so much comedy in this movie, and it is absolutely hilarious! This is a movie that you will want to watch with friends and family, so you can crack up about it with them! It’s also a movie that you will quote any chance you get (like I did at the end of the above paragraph). The movie basically tells the story of Buddy the Elf, who even though he lives at the North Pole, finds out that he is human! Once he finds this out, he desires to find his dad, who just happens to be on the naughty list! This movie explores Buddy’s adventures as he tries to find his dad and get along with him. It is a very funny movie that I would recommend watching!
I would assume that most people have seen this movie. If you haven’t, you definitely should get together with some friends or your family and watch it this Christmas season! You won’t regret it! If you have seen Elf already, but haven’t watched it in a while, you should watch it again! I bet you will still laugh! In conclusion, Elf is a great movie that everyone should watch!
Tech Thoughts
KINDLE
We finished talking about all of my Apple Products, but I do have one more of my tech products that I want to talk about! I almost put this in the Read section because this device corresponds with reading! I’m talking about the Kindle. Allow me to clarify: I’m talking about a Kindle, NOT a Kindle Fire. The Kindle is a device that lets you purchase and read thousands of digital books!
I love my Kindle for several reasons. The first is that I can read in the complete dark! The Kindle has lights, so you can read in the darkness without using a reading light. Because of the light placement, the lighting won’t hurt your eyes. You can read in direct sunlight as well! I also like that I can bring this thing with me, regardless of where I go. I can stash it in a bag, backpack, or even my pocket to take it somewhere, rather than carrying a whole book (or multiple books). The customizability is also awesome! You can change the font, text size, and other settings to adapt it to what you want. Another feature that I like is that the Kindle learns your reading speed and can tell you how much time it will take you to finish the chapter or the book! Kindle has tons of other features depending on which model you get. Also, you can hold this in one hand, instead of struggling to keep a thick book open!
I’m definitely a bookworm and always have been. Originally, I didn’t really enjoy reading on a Kindle because it wasn’t like a ‘real book.’ I still do like the feeling of a ‘real book’ in my hands, but I love reading books on my Kindle for all the reasons in the above paragraph. Currently, I’m reading the final book of The Lord of the Rings on my Kindle, and I can see that I have 4hr of read time left. Anyway, I really enjoy reading on my Kindle, and it is a device that I’ve come to love! If you are going to buy one, get it now because Amazon has a HUGE sale on them! Check them out on Amazon.
Tech Deal It’s Black Friday weekend and Cyber Monday is coming up! Take a look at some of the tech deals and other deals on Amazon!
Wild Card
UNIVERSAL ORLANDO RESORT
Amusement Park #2 is Universal Orlando Resort! Last week, I talked about Walt Disney World and why I love that amusement park. This week, I want to talk about Universal Orlando! When thinking about Universal Orlando, the first thing that comes to my mind is the theming, but specifically in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley!
As many of you know, I really like Harry Potter, as talked about in a past newsletter. At Universal Orlando Resort, they have both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! These two places are outstanding! They have tons of rides, restaurants, shops, and locations all from Harry Potter! This is literally themed so well! Diagon Alley is actually hidden behind a wall and isn’t marked at all (Potter-heads will know why)! Hands down, Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are my favorite part of Universal Orlando! Another thing I like about this amusement park is the other rides! Universal has some really great and fun rides, and they are decently themed! They aren’t as themed as Walt Disney World rides, but still pretty good! Universal has a mix of intense rides and slower rides, providing something for everyone!
Universal Studios Orlando Resort is definitely worth visiting if you have seen some movies produced by Universal Studios. Even if you haven’t seen any Universal Studios movies, you can still have a fun time! I think this amusement park is better for older kids than younger kids, but younger kids can absolutely have a fun time! I’ve been here once a few years ago and it was a blast! I would definitely recommend going here!
😂
Have you seen “A Christmas Story”? Everyone loves that but we watched it when your Mom was young and none of us were that thrilled with it.
