HOW TO CATALOG BOOKS
Today I want to take a different approach; I’m not going to be focusing on a specific book, but instead, how to catalog books that you have read, are reading, or want to read in the future. First, I’m going to focus on the benefits of cataloging books. After this, I will share how you can catalog books effectively.
There are many benefits to cataloging books, and it is something that I’ve been doing for many years! I would strongly recommend doing this, whether it is on paper, using an app like Goodreads, or using Notion (which I will explain below). Cataloging books helps you see what books you have read in the past, what books you are reading now, and what books you want to read in the future. (This is great for people like me who have countless books they intend to read!) This also allows you to remember books you’ve read in the past by writing a short summary of the book. This can be just a few sentences, but will help you remember the gist of the book later (or write a review on it if you are like me). Finally, the fun part of this is that you get to see stats like how many books you’ve read this year, how many pages you read this year, etc. I’ve been cataloging books for a while now, and while it is hard to stay consistent, I have found it really pays off!
How-To
Below, I have listed two options for digitally creating your own book catalog. Of course, you could just do it on your own by creating a spreadsheet or printing out a chart to write everything on.
Option 1: Using Goodreads
This is the simplest option because the app is designed for the singular purpose of helping people catalog books! The app is pretty cool and easy to use. Download it here or go to their website here.
Option 2: Using Notion:
While this option is a little more complex, it is a much more customizable option. Here are the steps to downloading your free book catalog (created by The Weekly Write-Up):
Open this link to access the sample template.
Click the three dots (should be in top-right corner on the page).
In the menu you are given, press duplicate page (you will not be able to edit it or add books unless you duplicate the page as a template).
Log in or create an account with Notion.
There you go! You now have a database to track all of your books that you want to read, are reading, or have read. Please note that it may take a little bit to get used to using Notion if you haven’t used it before.
If you have any questions or comments concerning book cataloging or downloading your free template, please let me know in the comments section below or email me at theweeklywriteup1@gmail.com!

SUPER BOWL LVII SUMMARY
Last Sunday, we saw the ultimate showdown between two amazing teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. I gave some background and predictions about these two teams in my newsletter last week. (See below for details on winner of Super Bowl LVII Picks). If you didn’t catch the game or just want a recap of what happened, I have written a comprehensive summary below:
1st Quarter:Some football games start slow with a three-and-out situation, but Philadelphia’s first drive was far from that. After a few small plays and runs, we saw Jalen Hurts throw to DeVonta Smith for 23 yards, which put them in the red zone and in good scoring position. A few plays later, Jalen Hurts rushed up the middle for 1 yard to secure the touchdown! (0-7) Right off the bat, the Chiefs were on fire. The Chiefs drive was only 6 plays, including a Travis Kelce completion for 20 yards, Isiah Pacheco run for 24 yards, and Patrick Mahomes pass to Travis Kelce for the end zone to tie it up! (7-7) The next drive wasn’t eventful, as the Eagles got 3-and-out and immediately punted the ball back to the Chiefs. The Chiefs drive wasn’t too much better. A few short runs, a throw to Kelce (again) for 22 yards, and a missed 42-yard field goal by Harrison Butker concluded that drive. With 2:24 left in the first, the Eagles did a few short runs and passes, ending the first.
2nd Quarter: Very first play of the 2nd quarter, Jalen Hurts throws it to A.J. Brown for a 45-yard TD!!! (7-14) Eagles back in possession, after an unsuccessful drive by KC, slowly progress down the field until… Jalen Hurts fumbles! This fumble is picked up by Chiefs’ Nick Bolton and run into the end zone for the touchdown! (14-14) With 9:39 left before the half, the Eagles take their sweet time on the drive. A few short runs and passes, until they are presented with 4th and 5 where Jalen Hurts rushed up the middle for a 28 yard gain, taking them to the 16 yard line! Not much later, Jalen Hurts runs for 4 yards into the end zone for his 2nd TD of the game! (14-21) The Chiefs’ drive was again a bust, including some incomplete passes, a false start, and a fumble which was recovered. They punted the ball back to the Eagles with just 1:33 remaining. Time ticking, the Eagles manage to get it to the Chiefs 17-yard line and allow Jake Elliot to complete the 35-yard field goal, sending it to halftime. (14-24)
3rd Quarter: After the halftime show performance by Rihanna (which I didn’t watch), we are back to the game, with Chiefs receiving the ball. The Chiefs progressively moved down the field with some great runs, short passes, and a 14-yard scramble by Patrick Mahomes. The drive ended with a 1 yard touchdown by Isiah Pacheco! (21-24) The Eagles’ 9-min drive consumed the rest of the half. Dallas Goedert did exceptionally well during this drive, bringing in two 17-yard passes from Jalen Hurts. The drive ended with a 4th and 6 situation, where Jake Elliot kicked a 33-yard field goal with 1:48 left in the third quarter! (21-27) The Chiefs managed to gain 31 yards and get to their own 45 before the end of the third.
4th Quarter: Patrick Mahomes seemed to favor JuJu Smith-Schuster for this quarter, as all 3 of the first plays of the quarter were to him, bringing in a total of 30 yards! After a Jerrick McKinnon run, Patrick Mahomes threw it to Kadarius Toney for the TD and the lead with a full 12:08 left in regulation! (28-27) Well, the Eagles’ next drive stunk, leaving them with a 4th and 3 situation and a punt that went very well for the Chiefs. Kadarius Toney returned this punt FOR 65 YARDS, putting the Chiefs at the 5-yard line! Two plays later, Patrick Mahomes passed left for a 4-yard touchdown, increasing their lead! (35-27) The Eagles’ next drive started off slow, but it didn’t finish that way! 3rd and 5 with 6 min left to go, Jalen Hurts chucked it down to DeVonta Smith for 45 yards! The next play saw Jalen Hurts running for a 2-yard touchdown, and running it in for the 2-point conversion, which tied the game at 5:20 left in the game! (35-35) Now, all the Chiefs had to do was run down the clock and score right at the end, no mistakes allowed! They did some pretty good passes, as well as a Patrick Mahomes’ 26 yard scramble which placed them at the 17-yard line with 2:07 left on the game clock! The Chiefs end up getting 3rd and 8 and NOT making it, BUT there was a very controversial holding on the play which gave KC the first down at the 10! Kansas City then ran down the clock, and Harrison Butker kicked the 27-yard field goal to take back the lead with just 0:11 left! (38-35) The final play showed Jalen Hurts throwing the ball to the middle of the field, ending the game! Final Score: 38-35 KC!!!
So, the Chiefs win their 3rd Super Bowl (1970, 2020, and 2023) and Patrick Mahomes gets his second Super Bowl ring! Also, I got it right that the Chiefs would win! Speaking of which, I have attached the picks sheet with all the correct answers below! See how many points you got, and post your score in the comments!

ANKER 3 IN 1
Recently, my dad purchased this 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Hub from Anker. This is a pretty amazing charging hub, and I would like to tell you a little more about it! I think convenience is definitely the biggest pro when it comes to this charging hub. Wireless charging is convenient in the first place because you don’t have to fuss around with plugging the device into an actual cord. For example, I have a Flymuda Desk Lamp with Wireless Charging that I talked about in a previous article, which I use to charge my 3rd Generation AirPods. Anker has mastered the wireless charging experience in the Anker 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Hub, including three wireless charging components!
First, there is a place to put your phone and allow it to charge. This stand can be adjusted for a perfect view, which is really nice. Your phone can be placed on here horizontally or vertically, and it works fine both ways. Something I noticed is that the wireless charger is very responsive. As soon as you place the phone on, it starts charging; you don’t have to mess around with it to get it in the perfect spot! Second, there is a place to charge your Apple Watch. Since Apple Watches have a unique charger, you actually thread it through the bottom of the hub and neatly wrap it in there. This leaves the actual charger out of sight, making it super impressive and clean. Finally, the hub has another wireless charging area for AirPods, another phone, or another wireless charging device!
Overall, this is a fantastic wireless charging hub! It charges your devices and leaves your desk, nightstand, or kitchen counter nice and organized (no cables running everywhere). Like I said before, I was just checking out my dad’s, but I am heavily considering buying one of these for my desk! Currently, this astonishing hub is $10 off at $21.99 on Amazon, so now would be a great time to purchase!
Wild Card
HOULIHAN’S
Last week, we went out to celebrate my dad’s birthday! We went to eat at Houlihan’s in Noblesville! Since this is my first restaurant review (besides the Disney Wish review), we need to discuss what I will be talking about when it comes to restaurants. Two things come to my mind when I’m thinking about restaurants (and they happen to rhyme): mood and food. Mood refers to what the restaurant is like, the atmosphere if you will. This can be what is the “dress code,” how are the servers, and even how loud it is in the restaurant. The food refers to, well…the food!
Mood: First, let’s talk about the mood of Houlihan’s. I would say that this restaurant is between a casual restaurant and a fancy restaurant. It isn’t super fancy. I mean, I wore jeans and a thermal shirt, so that isn’t very dressy. It is moderately loud inside of Houlihan’s (at least when I went) between people talking, music, etc. The servers were very nice and friendly and brought out our food promptly.
Food: Houlihan’s serves a very delicious variety of food. It is mostly American cuisine (random hodge-podge). They have burgers, fish, chicken, and so much more! I got fried cheese, the house salad, Houlihan’s signature burger, French fries, and a chocolate brownie cake. This was all delicious, but also very filling because the portions are large!
Houlihan’s was a very pleasant place to eat, and I would definitely eat here again in the future. If you would like, you can go to houlihans.comto learn more or make a reservation. I will definitely review more restaurants in the future!
